This luxurious resort is beautifully located, nestling in Lapbad Bay, with dazzling views of the Adriatic from the restaurant. It consists of four 5-star hotels: the Royal Ariston: The Palm Royal: The Blue Royal Resort, and the Princess Royal Resort. Guests have the advantage of using the facilities of all 4 hotels, which include 7 outdoor and 2 indoor swimming pools, and wellness centre and various restaurants and bars. Breakfast is taken in the hotel you are allocated, but we dine each evening as a group in the Royal Terrace Restaurant (located in the Princess Royal Hotel- which is also where Bridge is played) before evening bridge. Why not treat yourself to an ocean view room upgrade, watching the sunset from your balcony is the ultimate way to relax after a day of exploring Dubrovnik!
A stroll along the seaside promenade takes you into the nearby village resort of Uvala, where you will find cafes; shops and tourist facilities.
Dubrovnik, often called “The Pearl of the Adriatic” is less than 5 kms away and easily reached by local bus. This UNESCO listed Old Town offers a mix of stunning historical sites inside its 13th century city walls. Admire landmarks like the Rector’s Palace and Sponza Palace inside its city gates or take a walk around its iconic city walls for panoramic views of Lokrum and the Elaphati Isles. Take the cable car up Mount Srd, and enjoy mesmerising views whilst sipping a coffee on the terrace above the Adriatic and Old Town.
With its vibrant culture, rich history, and striking scenery Dubrovnik is a must-see destination, and April is a great time to visit Dubrovnik! With average temperatures around 17C (63F) it’s warm enough for comfortable sightseeing without the bustle of the summer crowds.
Our friendly bridge hosts, Maggie & Barry Watts, look forward to escorting our included guided tour into Montenegro. The winding roads along the bay, the dramatic mountain backdrop, and the charming old town of Kotor, with its narrow streets and medieval architecture, are all highlights that you wouldn’t want to miss. Our experienced bridge director, Sarah Amos, has prepared a varied and interesting bridge programme, and looks forward to seeing you all in the bridge room.
For guests arriving at Dubrovnik International airport on our specific change over days, join the group and transfer to the Royal Princess Hotel. (Transfer time approximately 30 minutes ).
There will be a singles meeting where partners will be found for single players, followed by dinner and a short session of evening bridge, for those who arrive on time and wish to play bridge on arrival evening.
Our Club Classics bridge programme is included throughout your stay, and each evening after dining at 18.30 you are invited to join us for some interesting bridge sessions from a varied duplicate bridge programme in our bridge room until late.
There will also be some daytime bridge sessions and morning bridge seminars available throughout your holiday that you are invited to join if you wish to do so. We will arrange the daytime bridge sessions to complement any optional or included excursions available, and our bridge director will be mindful of local weather conditions and may choose to change timings around if it is in the groups interest to do so.
Our final bridge programme will be sent to you with your travel documentation approximately two weeks prior to departure.
Our full day excursion from Dubrovnik into Montenegro is a breathtaking journey filled with stunning views and rich history. We cross the border and head towards the picturesque Bay of Kotor, passing the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks, a beautiful baroque church on a small island in the bay. It's a great spot for a quick photo opportunity and a glimpse into Montenegro's maritime culture.
Next stop is Perast, a charming little town along the bay, where the 17th-century architecture and serene waterfront create a peaceful atmosphere. You can wander through its narrow streets, enjoy the views, and maybe even take a boat ride to nearby islands.
The highlight of the day is Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site with its medieval old town surrounded by impressive city walls. Explore its maze of cobbled streets, visit the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, and enjoy the quaint shops and cafes that line the squares. If you’re feeling adventurous, climb up to the Kotor Fortress for panoramic views of the bay and town below.
With stunning landscapes, historic sites, and the charm of coastal Montenegro, this excursion is the perfect way to experience the beauty of the region in just one day.
We return to our hotel in time for dinner and evening bridge.
Today we bid farewell to guests and after breakfast and hotel check-out depart on the group transfers to Dubrovnik International Airport.
