Lido di Jesolo is a charming seaside resort located on the Adriatic Sea in Northern Italy, just a short distance from Venice. The town’s flat landscape makes it easy to explore, with attractions, cafes, and shops all within easy reach.
Via Bafile, Europe’s longest car-free avenue, is perfect for shopping, where you can browse through stylish boutiques or simply sip a cappuccino and people watch at one of the many pavement cafes. Nearby, the old town of Jesolo hosts a vibrant weekly market each Friday, featuring over 200 stalls selling everything from local meats and cheeses to Italian antiques—the perfect place to pick up a memento of your trip.
At the Hotel Principe Palace, you’ll enjoy the comfort and elegance of a family-run, 4-star hotel. Located directly on Piazza Milano, one of Lido di Jesolo’s main squares, the hotel offers easy access to both the beach and the town’s shops and cafes. Guests can relax by the rooftop pool, which provides stunning panoramic views over the piazza and the Venetian Lagoon, or savor superb dining in the hotel’s elegant 4th-floor restaurant.
Getting around is simple and convenient, with local bus and ferry services providing an easy connection to Venice. Just a short ride away, Venice offers iconic attractions such as St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, and its famous canals. The nearby islands of the Venetian Lagoon, including colourfully painted Burano, historic Torcello, and Murano, renowned for its century’s old glassmaking tradition, are also easily reachable and not to be missed.
Our included tour to Padua provides a fascinating glimpse into Italy’s history. Explore the stunning Basilica of Saint Anthony, admire the breathtaking Scrovegni Chapel, and stroll through the beautiful Prato della Valle square. With its rich cultural heritage, Padua is a must-visit destination during your stay.
Sarah Amos, our experienced bridge director, looks forward to seeing you in the bridge room, and our hosts John & Sarah Barker are ready to explore this exciting region with you, as well as joining you for some challenging games of bridge!
For guests arriving at Venice Marco Polo airport on our specific change over days, join the group and transfer to the Hotel Principe Palace. (Transfer time approximately 30 minutes).
There will be a singles meeting where partners will be found for single players, followed by dinner and a short session of evening bridge, for those who arrive on time and wish to play bridge on arrival evening.
There will be a welcome meeting at 10.00 am in the bridge room where you will meet your bridge director and bridge hosts and be given information on the bridge programme and your holiday and enjoy a welcome drink with your newfound bridge friends.
Buffet dinner at 18.30 pm followed by evening bridge
Our Club Classics bridge programme is included throughout your stay. Each evening, after dinner at 18:30, you are warmly invited to join us in the bridge room for engaging sessions from our varied duplicate bridge programme, running until late.
For those who wish to participate during the day, we also offer bridge seminars some mornings and additional daytime bridge sessions. These are carefully scheduled to complement any optional excursions, ensuring a balanced holiday experience. Our bridge director will remain attentive to local weather conditions and may adjust timings, if needed, to suit the group's interests.
Your final bridge programme will be sent to you with your travel documentation approximately two weeks before departure.
We depart our hotel after breakfast for our wonderful, full day excursion to historic Padua. Upon arrival, we meet our local guide for a tour of this historic city. Wander through its charming, arcaded streets and stylish coffee houses, and visit the Cappella degli Scrovegni, home to Giotto's famous frescoes, often called Padua's Sistine Chapel. Discover the medieval marketplace before heading to the Basilica of St. Anthony, with its incredible 13th-century masterpieces, and Byzantine style domes. Enjoy a special stop at the renowned Graziani Patisserie, where you'll sample the famous Millefeuille, made from a recipe that has been passed down through the family for over 100 years. You’ll also enjoy pizza bread, mini sandwiches, and a glass of Prosecco or Aperitif—this tasting experience is included in your tour. Afterward, you’ll have free time to shop, explore, or visit the Botanical Garden, one of the oldest and most significant in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll return to your hotel around 17:30, in time for dinner and an evening bridge.
Today we bid farewell to guests and after breakfast and hotel check-out depart on the group transfers to Venice Marco Polo Airport.
