Our included excursions take in Nicosia, Europe’s only divided capital, where Gothic architecture, Ottoman courtyards and lively markets sit side by side, and Famagusta, with its Venetian walls, grand cathedral and the abandoned district of Varosha. At Salamis, ancient mosaics, theatre and ruins stretch out along the coastline, offering a striking contrast to the present day. Optional tours allow for a more relaxed pace or further exploration, from Bellapais Abbey and St. Hilarion Castle to guided walks through the Five Finger Mountains, where tulips and orchids appear across the hillsides in early spring.
